Yes. SignShield captures signer intent, identity (name, email, IP address, timestamp), and document integrity using SHA-256 hashing. This meets e-signature standards under the ESIGN Act (US), UETA, and eIDAS (EU). A Certificate of Completion is appended to every signed document as legal evidence. Signed PDFs also contain an embedded PKI digital signature and an RFC 3161 trusted timestamp from an independent authority, so the signing time and document integrity can be verified in Adobe Acrobat — even if SignShield no longer exists.

Yes. Every signed document has a unique verification URL at app.merchantkits.com/verify. Anyone can confirm the document's authenticity, view the signer identity, and see the complete signing timeline — without needing a SignShield account.
An RFC 3161 timestamp is issued by an independent Timestamp Authority (TSA) and embedded directly inside the signed PDF. It cryptographically proves the document was signed at a specific date and time — verified by a neutral third party, not just SignShield. This is the same standard used by Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, and enterprise e-signature platforms. If a signature is ever challenged in court or an audit years from now, the timestamp stands on its own even if our service is unavailable.
