SignShield and SignPanda are both Shopify apps for getting customers to sign waivers, rental agreements and contracts. They solve the same problem in opposite ways: SignPanda collects the signature on the product page or in the cart, before the customer buys, while SignShield emails a signing link right after the order is placed. That one difference, plus a large gap in price, decides which one suits your store.
The short answer
- Choose SignShield if your customers can sign right after ordering (rentals, bookings, services, custom orders) and you want the lower price: $9.99/month for 50 signatures versus $62.50 on SignPanda.
- Choose SignPanda if the signature must be collected before the customer can pay, or if you want an app with an established review history.

Price at every volume
SignShield includes a fixed number of signing requests in each plan. SignPanda includes fewer documents per plan and charges for each one above that. Here is the cheapest option on each app for a given number of signatures a month:
| Signatures a month | SignShield | SignPanda |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | $9.99 (Pro) | $15 (Lite) |
| 50 | $9.99 (Pro) | $62.50 (Pro: $50 + 10 × $1.25) |
| 100 | $19.99 (Plus) | $100 (Premium) |
| 150 | $19.99 (Plus) | $150 (Premium: $100 + 50 × $1) |
| 300 | $29.99 (Business) | $300 (Premium: $100 + 200 × $1) |
At 50 signatures a month the difference is about $52 a month, or roughly $630 a year. At 300 signatures it is about $270 a month. If you sign more than 300 documents a month, SignPanda's Premium plan keeps scaling at $1 per extra document, while SignShield needs a custom plan, so ask us for volume pricing before you compare.
When the customer signs
This matters more than any feature list.
SignPanda: before purchase. The signing step is embedded in the product page or cart. The customer can't buy without signing, so every order arrives with a signature already attached. The trade-off is an extra step in front of the buy button, which some customers will abandon.
SignShield: right after the order. Checkout stays exactly as Shopify built it. When an order contains a product linked to a document, the customer gets a signing link by email, signs on any device, and the Shopify order is updated when it's done. Unsigned customers get up to two reminder emails, about 1 and 3 days later, and you can resend a link for free. The trade-off is that a customer could order and not sign, so you need a policy for that, such as not handing over the rental or starting the work until the document is signed.
For rentals, bookings, classes and custom work there is always a gap between ordering and delivery, and that's where signing after the order works well. For products shipped immediately, where you can't hold the order, signing before purchase is the safer choice.
SignShield — e-signatures for Shopify orders
Link a waiver or contract to your products and SignShield emails every customer a signing link when they order. Works on every Shopify plan.
- From $9.99/month · 7-day free trial
- 50, 150 or 300 signing requests per month
- Automatic reminders · signed PDF + Certificate of Completion
- Customers sign on any device, no account needed
What the signed document proves
If a customer ever disputes a waiver, the signed file is your evidence. Every SignShield document is a PDF with:
- a Certificate of Completion recording who signed, their email, IP address and when they signed;
- a SHA-256 fingerprint of the document, so any later change is detectable;
- an embedded digital signature that Adobe Acrobat can verify;
- an RFC 3161 timestamp from an independent timestamp authority, proving when it was signed without relying on our clock;
- a public verification page where anyone, such as an insurer or a court, can confirm the document is genuine.
SignPanda's listing describes secure document delivery and copies sent to both you and the customer, but doesn't say what audit trail or verification is included. If evidence matters for your business, ask SignPanda what their signed file contains before you choose.

When SignPanda is the better pick
- You must have the signature before payment. For example, items that ship the same day, or activities where you can't follow up after purchase.
- You want a track record. SignPanda has been on the App Store since 2022 with a 4.9 rating from 13 reviews. SignShield is new and has no reviews yet.
- You want hands-on setup. SignPanda's Pro plan includes a free onboarding call.
- You want a longer trial. 14 days instead of 7.
In every other case, and especially if price matters, SignShield does the job for a fraction of the cost. Not sure? Both have a free trial, so test each with a real product and a test order.
Switching from SignPanda to SignShield

- Place a test order and sign it on your phone to check the email and the signed PDF.
- Keep your signed SignPanda documents for your records, then uninstall SignPanda.

Frequently asked questions
Is SignShield cheaper than SignPanda?
Yes, at every volume up to 300 signatures a month. For 50 signatures SignShield costs $9.99 and SignPanda $62.50; for 300 signatures SignShield costs $29.99 and SignPanda $300 (SignPanda prices from its Shopify App Store listing on November 4, 2026).
Can customers sign before they buy with SignShield?
